A document was leaked and in it was info on upcoming films from Paramount, one of those listed was our mysterious TMNT movie. What’s most interesting about this find is that the script they originally had placed wasn’t “great” and that it was a huge Viacom priority… I guess that’s why they brought in the Ironman team to take over.
Perhaps this is an opportunity for the DOTN project?
Apparently Nick decided to add some minor features to the site, starting to let everyone know who the big boss is now
Hopefully we’ll see a newly redone site featuring the new Ninja Turtles on the front page (Nick had better not take us back twenty years… looking forward to a positive future)
Well, looks like were going to get that sophisticated movie after all:
Paramount Pictures has hired Iron Man writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway to reimagine a live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with an eye toward creating the studio’s “next huge franchise, like Transformers,” Deadline reports.
Paramount parent company Viacom bought the rights to TMNT in October from The Mirage Group for a reported $60 million with immediate plans to develop a feature film from Paramount and a CG-animated TV series from Nickelodeon, both in 2012. According to Deadline, the studio is fast-tracking production to meet that target date.
Platinum Dunes, the company run by Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller, is producing the film along with Scott Mednick, Galen Walker and Marina Norman.
Created Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles debuted in 1984 as a parody of Cerebus, Daredevil, New Mutants and Ronin. However, thanks largely to the efforts of licensing agent Mark Freedman, the property soon spawned animated TV series, movies, video games and endless merchandise. In March 2008, Laird completed a buyout of Eastman’s interests in TMNT and Mirage Studios that began in 2000. More than a year later Laird announced the sale of the property to Viacom.
That’s right, we are FINALLY redesigning the website. We have had this design for over a year now, it’s time to make this thing sexy. Hopefully we will have something up within the next couple weeks. The new site will come with some new new goodies that you haven’t seen or read before, stay tuned for more!
I was a Ninja Turtle fan, I know [they are] not a super heroes but I really wanted to be a Ninja Turtle,” Lively told Pop Tarts when we asked her which superhero she would want to be at the Comic Con Convention in San Diego this weekend.
Here is a picture of my wife sporting the very first Dawn of the Ninja t-shirt ever pulled out of a box or worn by mankind. I have a limited supply of t-shirts, so come find me fast at ComicCon if you want one. These are for our fans only!
All you have to do is follow me @DawnoftheNinja on Twitter or @lukekeith if you want to know where I am (assuming AT&T’s network can handle the con without crapping out).
