Kickstarter to finish our graphic novel?

Monday, May 13th, 2013

Greetings TMNT fans,

I am once again toying with the idea of doing a Kickstarter to finish Dawn of the Ninja. Aside from a soft and hard cover copy of the finished graphic novel, are there any other incentives you would like to see on our Kickstarter? What would entice you to contribute? We have quite a bit of money to raise in order to finish the remaining 11 chapters of our book, so I may do one Kickstarter for every chapter. What do you guys think?

Best,
Luke Keith

Release date for our first original comic

Saturday, February 16th, 2013

TMNT fans,

We have been working hard on developing several original comic concepts over the last few years since we began DOTN and realized it may never see publishing due to it’s mature nature. On the 27th of this month, the first issue of Seven Percent, a six issue mini-series by Jeremy and I will be released on Comixology and iVerse. It is a sci-fi series heavily inspired by my love for manga. I’ve been wanting to do something like this for a long time, I just never had the chance until now. Thanks to DOTN, I’ve been able to make all the connections necessary to make Seven Percent a reality.

Someday I would like to complete DOTN, but that all depends on how successful we can be with our own original titles. If you like action, sci-fi, anime, manga, or cool stories in general, (okay I’m bias), then I hope you will consider reading Seven Percent when it is released later this month. I will keep you posted. For now, here is the first issue description and cover art.

“In the year 3499, programmed UNION soldier infiltrates the Separatist city of Subterra in search of the Psion Machine, humanities’ most sought-after and cryptic super technology. The mission falls apart when he finds the infamous machine only to discover he and it share a puzzling bond.”

Eastman says TMNT film will be “Fantastic”

Tuesday, November 20th, 2012

The upcoming reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, titled simply Ninja Turtles, has been a bit of a controversy since it was announced, but co-creator Kevin Eastman wants fans to know they shouldn’t worry. He’s already on the record as saying it will be a great film and he reiterated that in an interview with Examiner.com.

“This will be a great TMNT film,” said Eastman. “Much like many thirty year old concepts, the TMNT’s have been re-invented a number of times, some were stronger than others, but if you look at what Viacom/Nickelodeon has done/allowed to happen with the new TMNT animated TV series, and the new IDW comic series, each has a slightly new and refreshed take on the ‘core concept,’ the new film with be the same, a film ‘well placed’ in the TMNT lore the fans will enjoy. If we learned nothing else from one of my favorite Comic Book Based Films, ‘The Avengers,’ that there’s a lot to be said about never forgetting that core concept and core fan-base.”

He also told NBC Chicago about the script and what films the production is looking at for influence.

“From what I’ve seen of the script, it’s fantastic. Michael Bay has made some great and intense movies. We’re talking about being inspired by movies like ‘The Avengers’ for scope and roots origin and ‘The Raid: Redemption’ for fight scenes and ‘Rise for the Apes’ as far as computer-quality style.”

And where does Eastman fit into the film? Is he actually working on it?

“General creative consultant for the most part, which is cool as I get to wear a number of hats. From kicking the tires on a few plot threads with the awesome writers, Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec, here and there, to banging out cool character doodles for director Liebesman, they bring me in regularly to show off the latest landscape, and to get my thoughts, and so far, I’m 1000% on board! I know it will be an awesome film, and the start of a killer new franchise for Viacom.”

Ninja Turtles is now slated for a May 16, 2014 release date.

Either way, I sincerely hope you have enjoyed these two chapters as much as we have enjoyed making them.
