I don't know if you guys have thought about this, and I know you can't start a project on Kickstarter as "Dawn of the Ninja" because it's copyright material. But, what you could do is start a project for your team (that's if you actually form a group and call yourselves as team) and say that you're an independent comic publisher (which a lot of people have been getting into recently) and say that you need materials and everything else, post some pictures and videos of everything you've done so far, and I'm more than sure that there will be people impressed with your work and you'll get plenty of donations.

Thanks Steven! It's always encouraging to hear from people who appreciate what we are doing. This is completely independent, we are not affiliated with any publisher on this book. Obviously we would LOVE to get it published, but it's more mature than Nickelodeon wants. If you like what we have now... just wait a little longer till Chapter 2 is wrapped up... not to mention where the story is heading, which I am very excited about. I just hope we are able to finish the book.

Ray is definitely the perfect artist for this project, I'm very grateful to have him on the project. Let's also not forget Jeremy. He's the one who took our story and re-purposed it for a graphic novel. He was absolutely instrumental in bringing DOTN to life.

I'm not convinced Kickstarter is out of the question, there are other sites like it that we can use. There is nothing illegal about taking donations for a project like this, but it's definitely a grey area.

In any case, thank you for supporting our project. I plan to finish the book regardless of how long it takes, I don't care if it takes another 20 years, I am not the quitting personality. I can't afford to finish it right now, but that might be completely different in a few years, who knows.

Best,
Luke

Just read all the comments on this page, I definately now understand what the issue behind all this. It really stinks hearing that this comic is in danger of being unfinished unless it gets enough funding.

I just want to say: I absolutely love this comic

The artwork and illustrations are amazing (You got some serious talent, Ray, your style's perfect for this!).
The story line is exquisite and finely puts all of the common elements of TMNT into one piece that will satisfy any TMNT fan.
As for the characters I've seen so far in the novel, their personalities and traits are so passionately recaptured to the fullest, it reminds me why I love these characters so much.
But I think the one aspect i love the most about this is the fact that it's an independent comic book (least I think it is). The Ninja Turtles all started from an independent comic book from Peter Laird and Kevin Eastmen, so with what you're doing it all poetically comes full circle.

Luke, this truly IS your masterpiece
So it seems like Kickstarter is out of the question, but I'm positive there's other ways to fund an project like this. I think one thing that would definitely help is if this website got more attention.

Anyway I hope you, Luke, and maybe even Ray, see this comment and reply to it (as I've seen you've done it with other comments) with the latest update. Sorry that it's real long.

Ah, sorry, Richie! Didn't read your original comment back there. I just checked it out too - this is taken straight from the kickstarter community guidlines : " Don't post copyrighted content without permission.
The thing is Jacqui is that putting this on Kickstarter is against the rules of a Kickstarter campaign. Something nobody here seems to want to address.

100% in support for kickstarter page, I'll definently contribute. No changes to artist, writers or creative geniuses necessary people! They do an amazing job and should not be condemned for being paid to do it. It is certainly possible to raise enough money and I'll spread the word as far as I can. Look out facebook users...
